Who offers this site
GPS Update Reference is published by XYZ LLC, CALIFORNIA, USA (“the publisher”). Reading the site means accepting these terms.
What the site is
The site is an educational publication. It describes how navigation devices and car systems receive new maps. It is not a service: it performs no updates, gives no device-specific advice and sells nothing.
The makers’ documentation comes first
Each maker’s own manuals, terms and pages are the authority on its products. Where anything on this site differs from them, the maker’s material prevails.
Accuracy and change
Pages are checked against the makers’ published material as of the dates shown, and they are corrected when errors are found. Makers change their products and pages without notice, so the publisher cannot promise that every statement remains current or complete.
Links to other sites
Pages link to makers’ websites and to public agencies for reference. Those sites answer for themselves: the publisher has no say over what they publish or how they handle visitors.
Trademarks and illustrations
Product and company names are their holders’ trademarks; they appear here solely to say which product a passage describes. The illustrations are original to the site and depict no maker’s products, logos or screens.
Quoting and copying
Readers may read, print and quote the pages for personal, non-commercial purposes, with attribution. Copying whole pages or the illustrations elsewhere requires the publisher’s written permission.
